The SMS Marketing Opt-In feature gives customers a clear choice to receive promotional text messages. This helps ensure marketing communications are only sent to customers who have explicitly agreed to receive them.
How it works
During checkout, customers may see an optional SMS Marketing Opt-In checkbox in the Additional Information section.
Note: Opting in to marketing messages does not affect the delivery of required order-related text messages, such as ticket or event notifications.
To ensure customers can provide a phone number when needed, phone number collection can be made mandatory during checkout. Please contact your Client Service Manager for assistance with enabling this feature.
Things to know
- The checkbox is not selected by default.
- If the SMS Marketing Opt-In checkbox is not appearing during checkout, it may be disabled for your account. Please contact your Client Service Manager for assistance.
- The SMS Marketing Opt-In checkbox will only display if the customer already has a phone number saved to their account or if phone number collection is enabled during checkout (for example, through SMS Delivery or the Phone Collection feature).
- The opt-in works in conjunction with the CRM filter "Opt In – Only show customers who have opted in to receive marketing communications." Customer search results will reflect each customer's marketing preference.
- Phone numbers for customers who have opted in to receive marketing messages are available through the Sales Endpoint API.
