Getting Started - What are Ticket Type Categories?

Categories offer another way for you to group your ticket types based on the type of product they represent.

You’ll be able to choose from 5 predefined categories upon ticket type creation:

1. Admission (can be used for entry tickets).
2. Admission - Other (can be used for ticket types related to admission that represent ancillary revenue or add-ons).
3. Parking
4. Merch

5. Donation

   To facilitate improved categorization of your products and services, a broader selection of ticket categories will be available starting May 12th. New categories will include more admission-related options like camping or bundles, food and beverage, and more specific merchandise options. As part of this update, the “Merch” category will be retired.

Set Ticket Types Categories

Festival Event Creation – within the Event Creation Step 2.  ECV – within the Ticket Manager 

1. Click on “Add a ticket type”
2. Set a ticket name, price, status and allotment.
3. Click on the field under the “Category” column and choose the option that fits your ticket type best.
4. Save

Things to know

• All ticket types are created with “Admission” category selected by default.
• Once a ticket has been sold on that ticket type (including payment plans), the category cannot be changed, even if all tickets are refunded or chargedback.

Any ticket types created before the release of this feature will also have the “Admission” category assigned by default, however it can be updated as long as no tickets have sold on the ticket type.

Where can I see/use ticket categories?

Client and Event level reporting

Ticket Type Category column can be found in the following reports:

• Order Details - Event (event level and scheduled report)
• Order Details Inc Lyte (event level and scheduled report)
• Order Details - Client Account (client level and scheduled report)
• Refund Detail by Ticket (event level and scheduled report)

Event Settlement Report

You can download an Admission only version of this report, which will only include data for ticket types categorized as “Admission”.
